I graduated from Falmouth University with an Undergraduate in Fine Art. During that time, I focused on 2D mediums, specifically oil paints and I worked hard to develop my skills. Whilst a lot of my work was technical artworks, I completed a multitude of research/written projects where I developed and broadened my knowledge of traditional artistic techniques, which I was then able to implement into my own work.
My main focus with my final project was translating contemporary film stills into traditional artistic mediums, pulling influence and techniques from the baroque era. I experimented with formatting movie stills as sequential pieces to explore with static story telling.
Experimenting with the different techniques and materials really helped me understand my personal preferences in regards to painting and helped me be a lot more comfortable with the foundational aspects of creating an art piece.
